Pushy Teen Takes over my Bathroom

Dear Mrs. McVeigh,
My daughter plays on a sports team, where they have practice before school. We live close to the school, so she runs home to take a shower and get ready for the day. A girl on her team, who she is not really friends with, asked my daughter if she could come over to shower and get ready. My sweet and too nice daughter tried to tell her no, but the girl was pushy, and came over anyway. She took up the whole bathroom for a long time. So long that my son was not able to get ready in his own bathroom. Am I being unsympathetic to her situation? I don’t want her to not be showered before school, or even late to school because she is going home. How do I solve this issue with this pushy girl? Thank you.
Mrs. J

Dear Mrs. J,
It sounds like this young lady is very self centered, and does not take no as an answer. If she continues to show up at your door, I would stop her before she goes to the shower, and tell her that she has to be out of there by a certain time. Nicely (but firmly) tell her if she is not, then it would be best that she makes other arrangements. If she literally does not meet your deadline and refuses to come out of the bathroom, then the next day I would conveniently not hear her knocking on the door. I know you do not want to be rude, but you have to do what is best for your family.
