Dear Mrs. McVeigh,
I have been getting on Facebook a lot lately, and have noticed on my neighborhood group chat, that there are a lot of people judging one another when it comes to social distancing. What do you think about people judging other people in this pandemic?

Dear Anonymous,
I agree that there are a lot of vocal people who are judging one another. I am more of a mind my own business person. However, I understand during this time why people are very emotional and angry towards others. They feel that other people’s actions could affect their health, and their loved one’s health. Or they may be frustrated with not being able to get out, and think it will take even longer if people do not follow the rules. The issue is that everyone interprets the “stay at home” and social distancing rules differently. In times like these I think we should all tread lightly. If you feel like you need to say something to someone about not following the rules, say it in a polite and non-confrontational way. Consider saying something one on one, opposed to calling them out in a group chat or setting.
